Timing the volatility of Bitcoin price movements

The price of bitcoin is one of the most volatile assets in the world today. This short term volatility makes it very difficult to predict where bitcoin’s price will move to next. It also create an opportunity for short term profits for traders and speculators that have both good timing and good discipline. This opportunity does not come without risk however. In fact, bitcoin happens to be one of the riskiest assets in the world today as well. The long term holders of bitcoin have seen almost unheard of gains (unheard of until bitcoin that is). The price of a single bitcoin rose from $700 in the beginning of 2017 to over $5,000 at its peak. Its currently hovering around $4,200 and its uncertain where it will go next. I have personally flip flopped my views on bitcoin repeatedly from bullish to bearish and back again. In fact, bitcoin is so volatile that I will often go long and short multiple times in a single day. One thing’s for sure, where ever the price of bitcoin goes to next, its going to be an exciting and bumpy ride.
